Matilde Artes Company, conocida como Sacha, naci\u00f3 en Argentina en 1933. Actriz y activa militante pol\u00edtica, en los a\u00f1os 60 se fue a vivir a Bolivia donde dirigi\u00f3 programas culturales para televisi\u00f3n.\u00a0 Sacha fue perseguida por el gobierno del dictador Hugo Banzer\u00a0 y\u00a0 finalmente expulsada del pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n El secuestro de su hija Graciela el 2 de abril de 1976\u00a0 en la localidad boliviana de Oruro, junto a su nieta Carla, de s\u00f3lo un a\u00f1o de edad, transformar\u00eda su vida definitivamente. Comienza entonces la b\u00fasqueda de su hija y\u00a0 su nieta junto a las Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo. Ten\u00eda en ese momento, 43 a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n En 1983, Sacha y las Abuelas encontraron a Carla, y en 1985 la Justicia la restituy\u00f3 a su familia. Carla ya ten\u00eda 10 a\u00f1os, y hab\u00eda sufrido abusos y maltratos en la casa de sus apropiadores. En 1987 Sacha decidi\u00f3 que se fueran a vivir a Espa\u00f1a. Abuela y nieta reconstruyeron su vida all\u00ed. Carla se enamor\u00f3, tuvo hijos y form\u00f3 una familia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Sacha conservaba recortes de peri\u00f3dicos, fotos, expedientes m\u00e9dicos, afiches, art\u00edculos, dibujos, poemas, documentos legales y cartas a personas e instituciones. Carla se hizo cargo de esos documentos cuando vuelve a vivir a la Argentina y va sumando otros de sus propias b\u00fasquedas.<\/span><\/p>\n El 22 de febrero de 2017, Carla falleci\u00f3 de c\u00e1ncer. An actress and active political activist, she moved to Bolivia in the 1960s, where she directed cultural programs for television. Sacha was persecuted by the government of dictator Hugo Banzer and eventually expelled from the country.<\/span><\/p>\n The kidnapping of her daughter Graciela on April 2, 1976, in the Bolivian town of Oruro, along with her one-year-old granddaughter Carla, would forever change her life. At 43 years of age, she began searching for her daughter and granddaughter with the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo.<\/span><\/p>\n In 1983, Sacha and the <\/span>Grandmothers <\/span><\/i>found Carla, and in 1985, justice returned her to her family. Carla was already 10 years old and had suffered abuse and mistreatment in the home of her captors. In 1987, Sacha decided to move to Spain, where both she and Carla rebuilt their lives. Carla fell in love, had children, and started a family.<\/span><\/p>\n Sacha kept newspaper clippings, photos, medical records, archives, articles, drawings, poems, legal documents, and letters to individuals and institutions. Carla took charge of these documents when she returned to Argentina and added others from her research.<\/span><\/p>\n On February 22, 2017, Carla died of cancer.
