Olga Martegani de García
Olga Noemí Martegani de García nació el 4 de octubre de 1922 en Bavio. Era la más chica de cinco hermanos.
Le gustaba andar a caballo y se recibió como profesora de folklore y de piano en el conservatorio. Le gustaba bailar Folklore, la música académica, tocaba la guitarra y adoraba el aroma a lavanda. Tejía, cocida, hacía cerámica y solía estar rodeada de obras de artes porque era restauradora.
Se casó muy joven con Horacio y se radicaron en La Plata. Tuvieron dos hijos: Guillermo y Alejandro.
Cuando el 16 de marzo de 1977 su hijo menor es secuestrado en Neuquén mientras estaba haciendo el Servicio Militar obligatorio, Olga tenía 55 años.
A partir de allí, su vida estuvo abocada a la búsqueda de Alejandro y a la denuncia de su desaparición. Perteneció a la Asociación de Madres de Plaza de Mayo de La Plata y participó junto a otras organizaciones de derechos humanos en el reclamo de Memoria, verdad y justicia.
Declaró el 4 de agosto de 1999 en los Juicios por la Verdad de La Plata.
Murió el 26 de marzo de 2008, a los 85 años.
Olga was born on October 4, 1922, in Bavio, the youngest of five siblings. She enjoyed horseback riding and graduated from the conservatory as a folklore and piano teacher. She enjoyed folklore dancing and classical music, played the guitar, and adored the scent of lavender. She knitted, baked, and made pottery, often surrounded by works of art because she was a restorer.
She married Horacio at a young age and settled in La Plata, where they had two sons: Guillermo and Alejandro. When her youngest son was disappeared in Neuquén on March 16, 1977, while completing his mandatory military service, Olga was 55 years old.
From then on, her life was devoted to searching for Alejandro as part of the Association of Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in La Plata and other human rights organizations in the demand for Memory, Truth, and Justice. She testified on August 4, 1999, at the Truth Trials in La Plata.
She died on March 26, 2008, at the age of 85.
