El 22 de marzo de 2001, mediante la ley 12.642, el gobierno provincial le entregó a la CPM el edificio donde había funcionado durante más de medio siglo la Dirección de Inteligencia de la Policía de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (DIPPBA). El objetivo fue que estableciera su sede en ese emblemático edificio, y que resguardara y gestionara la apertura a la comunidad del archivo de inteligencia de la policía bonaerense, un extenso y pormenorizado registro de espionaje político-ideológico que recorre la historia argentina de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.

On March 22, 2001, through law 12.642, the provincial government handed over to the CPM the building where the Intelligence Directorate of the Buenos Aires Province Police (DIPPBA) had functioned for more than half a century. The objective was to establish a headquarter in this symbolic building, and to protect and manage the opening of the intelligence archive of the Buenos Aires police to the community, which is an extensive and detailed register of politico-ideological espionage that marks the history of Argentina from the second half of the 20th century.

El Museo de Arte y Memoria fue fundado por la Comisión Provincial por la Memoria en diciembre de 2002 con el objetivo de constituir un espacio de sensibilización y transmisión de la memoria social que abriera el debate por la promoción y defensa de los derechos humanos en la Argentina a través del arte.

Confiados en el poder transformador del arte y en su capacidad de promover una apropiación plural de nuestro pasado reciente, se trató en este caso de generar un espacio de sensibilización y transmisión de la memoria colectiva. Una institución vital que integre las artes visuales en general y que promueva una fuerte articulación del pasado y presente incorporando espacios de debate, extensión e investigación.

The Museum of Art and Memory was established by the Comisión in December of 2002 with the intent of creating a space of awareness and transmission of social memory that would open the debate for the promotion and defense of human rights in Argentina through art.

Confident in the transformative power of art and its ability to promote a collective recognition of our recent past, this case was about generating a space of awareness and transmission of collective memory. That is, a vital institution that would integrate the visual arts in general and that would promote a strong expression of the past and present, incorporating spaces of debate and investigation.

SEDE CENTRO DE DIGITALIZACIÓN MAURICIO TENEMBAUM: 4 N°1067

En febrero del 2022, la CPM inauguró el centro de digitalización Mauricio Tenembaum que funciona en un edificio ubicado a pocos metros de la casa histórica de la CPM. En esta sede se realizan las tareas de preservación, digitalización y puesta en valor de fondos documentales personales e institucionales, vinculados a las graves violaciones de derechos humanos cometidas por la dictadura cívico militar y también luego del regreso de la democracia.

CENTRO DE DIGITALIZACIÓN MAURICIO TENEMBAUM: 1067 4st

In February 2022, the CPM inaugurated the Mauricio Tenembaum digitization center, which operates in a building located a few meters from the CPM’s historic house. In this headquarters, the tasks of preservation, digitization and enhancement of personal and institutional documentary funds are carried out, linked to the serious human rights violations committed by the civic-military dictatorship and also after the return of democracy.

SITIO POZO DE QUILMES: Garibaldi y Allison Bell, Quilmes

En diciembre de 2016, la CPM comenzó a tomar posesión del edificio creado recientemente por ley como sitio de memoria. En ese momento, se desafectó el sector de calabozos de la dependencia policial; en marzo de 2020, se completó el proceso de desafectación y la CPM recibió el chalet de Allison Bell y Garibaldi, donde funcionaban las oficinas de la comisaría. Desde entonces, la apertura del espacio a la comunidad se propone trabajar colectivamente con escuelas, organizaciones e instituciones de la zona en la promoción y defensa de los derechos humanos.

POZO DE QUILMES ON GARIBALDI AND ALLISON ST., QUILMES

In December of 2016, through law N°14.895, the CPM was transferred the building where a clandestine detention center, known as Pozo de Quilmes, used to operate, for its preservation and creation as a Site of Memory.

Since then, the opening of the space to the community has set out to work collectively with schools, organizations, and institutions in the area for the promotion and defense of human rights.

SITIO COMISARÍA 1ª DE PERGAMINO: Dorrego 636, Pergamino

En 2018, el concejo deliberante de Pergamino sancionó por unanimidad la ordenanza municipal que creó el Espacio para la memoria y la defensa de los derechos humanos ex comisaría 1ª. La dependencia ya estaba señalizada como sitio de memoria, por el rol que tuvo durante el terrorismo de Estado. El 2 de marzo de 2022, al cumplirse cinco años de la masacre, el Municipio cedió el inmueble en comodato a la CPM. Ese día se produjo la toma de posesión del edificio.

COMISARÍA 1ª DE PERGAMINO, ON 636 DORREGO st., PERGAMINO

In 2018, the deliberative council of Pergamino unanimously sanctioned the municipal ordinance that created the Space for memory and the defense of human rights, former 1st police station. The dependency was already signposted as a site of memory, due to the role it played during state terrorism. On March 2, 2022, five years after the massacre, the Municipality gave the property on loan to the CPM. That day the inauguration of the building took place.
